We're really happy to tell you that we put our first Mermaid Hunters sets together today, and they look great! Check out this quick unboxing video we put together!
As you can see, the set is colorful and packed full of stuff, but there's enough room in the box to fit all of your other Yeld books too! You can slide the box right onto your game shelf, hopefully next to a new "Monster Hunters Guide to Yeld" box next year!
We plan to start shipping in a few days!

You should now have access to all of your digital rewards (except for the Rank 1 Adventure Set, which will come later this month) now. You can download your files from Backerkit, DrivethruRPG or your Kickstarter messages!

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great summer. Nick and I spent the whole summer working on Yeld stuff, and that's not a bad way to spend the summer at all! We've got a lot of good news for you today, so please read this whole update.

Last chance to update your shipping address! We're finally getting ready to start shipping, so if you need to update your shipping address now is the time! You can update your address in either Backerkit or Kickstarter, and if you can't figure out how just contact us on Kickstarter or at [email protected]. If we find that you have conflicting addresses we'll contact you and ask you where we should send your stuff. Please update your address by Friday the 10th of September!
Digital Rewards are available! Digital rewards from Mermaid Hunters are now available to download! This includes The Mermaid Hunters Starter Set, The Magical Land of Yeld rulebook, Towns & Territories, Quest, the 2021 Summer Collection and the Black Mage, Shepherd, Soul Thief and Sword Master Job Guides. Who knew there was so much Yeld stuff?
We're offering 3 ways to download this content:
- Backerkit: All of your downloads SHOULD be available through Backerkit right now. We're not exactly sure what downloading a file from Backerkit is like, but we think you'll receive an email with a download link. We also think you'll be able to go to your Backerkit account and find your links there. Most of your downloads will be PDF files, but if you pledged for either of the PDF bundles they will be delivered as a zip file.
- DrivethruRPG.com: We've started sending out downloads through Drivethru this evening. You'll receive an email from Drivethru saying you have a free digital download from Atarashi Games. That's us! Follow the link to the Drivethru shopping cart, where your digital downloads will be waiting for you with a price of $0! Sending these all out will likely take a few days, but if you don't receive your email by Thursday please let us know.
- Kickstarter: We'll also be sending you a message through Kickstarter with Dropbox links for each of your downloads. We think we'll start sending these messages on Wednesday, and we should have them all done by this weekend. The Dropbox links will remain available for about a month.
The Rank 1 Adventure Set is coming soon! Last month we told you that we really got held up of the Rank 1 Adventure Set. We're still finishing up work on that book, so the digital version will be available later in September. We'll send you separate download links when its available. We think it will be worth the wait! Get ready to fight this big bad beetle boss!
Shipping update: We're nearly ready to start shipping! We're waiting for the last batch of books and tokens to show up, but we expect to be putting Mermaid Hunters boxes in the mail starting on Monday, September 13th. Its been a long wait, but we're eager to start shipping!
As we noted above, the Rank 1 Adventure Set is running late. We don't expect it to arrive from the printer until the end of September. For those of you who ordered it, we'll either hold back your order or send the book to you separately, depending on funds.

Hi everyone. Its August, and we thought we'd be done by now. Let me tell you what's going on with the Mermaid Hunters Kickstarter.
Last month/update I mentioned that we had been really confident that we could deliver Mermaid Hunters in late July/early August, but then we realized we bit off more than we could chew. Life got in the way, and we were just kind of exhausted.
Well, that's continued to be true. Its the first week of August and we're realizing we're further behind than we thought. Not hugely behind, but we're clearly not shipping packages yet. Let me give you the run down.
- Mermaid Hunters: Most of the components for the Mermaid Hunters set are in, and they look great. Boxes, tokens, cheat sheets, characters sheets and the rest all are fantastic, and we think you'll love them! We're really happy with how these turned out, especially since this is the first time we've ever done anything like this.
- The Deluxe Action Board looks great too. We think you'll dig it!
- Books and proofreading: The Kickstarter involved creating several brand new books (Mermaid Hunters, Sword Master Job Guide, Rank 1 Adventure Set, Summer Collection), but it also involved reprinting all of our previous expansions. So we decided to take the opportunity to do more proof reading on everything and fix some mistakes. We're a small company. Its just Nick and I, and even when we hire outside proof readers its so easy for typos to get missed. We hate getting a book back rom the printer and then finding errors, but it does happen. So this seemed like a good opportunity to fix some past mistakes. But proofreading 9 books takes time. And we already had a HUGE amount or work to do. It ended up being more work than we thought, and it pushed back sending our books to the printer. The good news is that we expect to get our books back in a reasonable amount of time, and we'll probably be able to ship most orders by the end of this month. But...
Rank 1 Adventure Set: The Rank 1 Adventure Set has ended up being a bit of a problem. It was the only part of the Mermaid Hunters project that we hadn't started before the Kickstarter, and it ended up being bigger than we expected, and taking longer to produce. In fact, we're still working on it! The good news is that I think its going to be a very useful expansion, and a lot of players will get a lot out of it. i was also able to do a little more art for the book than I was expecting. The bad news is that we probably won't have it in hand until early to mid September. So...
Shipping: We plan to start shipping as soon as our books arrive. I think we should have most orders in the mail before the end of the month. However, if your order includes the Rank 1 Adventure Set, there will be a delay. We'll wait and see how it goes, but depending on the time frame we'll either hold your order until we get the book in September, or we'll ship your order and then ship the Rank 1 book separately later.
If you need to update your shipping address please do so now. We'll be checking both the addresses you gave us for Backerkit and Kickstarter. If they don't match, we'll contact you and ask which to use. If you're not sure how to update your address just send us a message.
Digital rewards: We really wanted to have digital rewards available for you last month, but we've been so busy that it just hasn't happened yet. I've also had some problems figuring out Backerkit's fulfillment system. However, I have put some time aside to work on this, and we want to have your PDFs available for you as soon as possible. We'll have an update about this around the middle of this month, or sooner.
